What's happening at CPRC in September?

2000 - Whose birthday?

2000 - Whose birthday? is the theme for a series of outreach services, to be held in the last 10 Sunday evenings before the Christmas programme on 5 December 1999 in Cape Peninsula Reformed Church (CPRC), 55a Kloof Street, Gardens, Cape Town.

The theme will focus on the words, works and person of Jesus, whose 2000th birhtday will be celebrated with the beginning of a new millenium.

Who was this Jew from Galilee, whose 2000th birthday is causing such a millenium madness? Was he a revolutionary? A pacifist? A dreamer? Come and listen to the discussion of the following questions.

Sun 26 Sept: 2000 years ago - Was there really a birthday?

Sun 3 Okt: 2000 years ago - Did Jesus claim to be the Messiah?

Sun 10 Okt: 2000 years ago - Was He a liberal?

Sun 17 Okt: 2000 years ago - Was He a dreamer?

Sun 24 Okt: 2000 years ago - Was He a rebel?

Sun 31 Okt: 2000 years ago - Was He a pacifist?

Sun 7 Nov: 2000 years ago - A healer, a philospher - or a guru?

Sun 14 Nov: 2000 years ago - Was He human?

Sun 21 Nov: 2000 years ago - Was He divine?

Sun 28 Nov: 2000 years ago - Jesus: Lunatic, liar - or Lord?

And not only to discuss - every evening there will be an open microphone - an opportunity for YOU to say what YOU think about this man from Galilee.

  • Praise and worship
  • "What I believe about Jesus" - Let the people speak!
  • "Open microphone" - opportunity for any questions
  • Prayer for those who need a touch of God
